Azerbaijan, Baku, 20 October / Trend corr. R.Ergun / It will be difficult to contest for championship hence, Rashad Sadigov, a footballer of the Azerbaijani Neftchi club, believes.
"We should not claim for the championship while making childish mistakes. It will be difficult to gain championship hence. We should hope for not only for our victories in next matches, but also loss of our main rivals," Sadigov told Trend on 20 October.
Neftchi met with its major rival Khazar-Lankaran in Lankaran city and lost with the score 0:2. This match reduced championship opportunities of Neftchi.
At present Neftchi ranks ninth in the Azerbaijani Premier League.
Although Neftchi produced good impressions at the first half of its match with Khazar-Lankaran, it could not display the expected performance, fullback Sadigov said.
"Vladimir Michovich, our goalkeeper, did not pass correctly a ball to footballers, when Khazar-Lankaran scored the first goal. He kicked a ball toward a rival footballer. Absence of our some footballers negatively influenced on the match, as well," the footballer said.
Sadigov is a captain of the Azerbaijani National football team. Earlier, he played for the Turkish Karserispor club.
The fullback thanked fans for their support to footballers of Neftchi club at the match with Khazar-Lankaran club by the end.
