The appeal related to four newspapers was discussed at the meeting of the complaints commission of the Azerbaijan Press Council.

"In discussion of the MP Nazim Mamedov's appeal, in connection with the newspapers of Azerbaijan Jumhuriyyati and Aktual, it was stated that the materials written about him contain biased motives," a source from Council told Trend .

About 4,000 media outlets registered in Azerbaijan. At present, only 600 of them operate. About 400 newspapers and magazines are published. Eight republican TV channels, 14 regional TV and 13 cable televisions channels operate. There are approximately 50 electron media outlets, about 20 news agencies and internet resources in Azerbaijan.

Until now, the Council of the press because of "racketeering" activities included 95 newspapers in the blacklist.

According to the committee members, in these newspapers the requirements of ethical principles were violated, the position of the opposite side was not represented. "Both of these newspapers were recommended to give a refutation on the moments, defiant dissatisfaction and to highlight the position of the opposite side," the source reported.

Making of a serious warning to the newspaper Respublika Ganjlari was acknowledged necessary at the commission meeting.

The participants came to the conclusion in discussion of the complaint to the newspaper Gundem Khabar by the State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patents that the material that led to dissatisfaction, expressed disrespect for a number of requirements of the rules of professional conduct for journalists. "Activity of this newspaper had been discussed at one of the previous council meetings and then the publication was made a serious warning. Taking into account the previous fact and the current matter, the committee decided to investigate materials related to this publication in the Commission against racketeering journalism, the source reported.

The meeting also considered appropriate to investigate materials associated with the newspaper of Turk Azerbaijan dunyasi in this commission.
