Employees of Azerbaijan ombudsman office meet imprisoned journalist

According to the instructions of the Commissioner for Human Rights in Azerbaijan, Elmira Suleymanova, Ombudsman Office staff met with journalist Eynulla Fatullayev, who is at Baku prison of Penal Service of the Ministry of Justice, the Ombudsman Office reported on Friday.

According to the instructions of the Commissioner for Human Rights in Azerbaijan, Elmira Suleymanova, Ombudsman Office staff met with journalist Eynulla Fatullayev, who is at Baku prison of Penal Service of the Ministry of Justice, the Ombudsman Office reported on Friday.

Fatullayev said he did not complain of any conditions of detention or the treatment of prison staff. According to him, there are no restrictions at meetings with lawyers and parents.

During the conversation, it became clear that since October 19, Fatullayev has been on hunger strike, using only water. The reason is the failure of decision by the European Court on Human Rights concerning him. In addition, Fatullayev was informed that his case was taken to the execution of the Plenum of the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan.

In order to control Fatullayev's health, the Ombudsman staff met with the officers and the physician of the medical unit and gave them their recommendations.
