Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Political Analysis and Information Provision Department head Elnur Aslanov believes that history textbooks used in the Azerbaijani secondary schools should be amended with respect to the country's history.

A relevant work is to be carried out together with the Education Ministry in this direction Aslanov said at a public discussion on the preparation of the State Program "Azerbaijani youth in 2011-2015" today.

"We need young people deeply mastered the history and the national idea of Azerbaijan. We should be proud, saying I am Azerbaijani and convey these feelings to others through our intellectual capacity, ability, creativity, " Aslanov said.
Aslanov said Azerbaijan became a leader in the region on economic indicators. The country should also become a leader on human potential, not only in the region, but in the world.
Baku is hosting public discussions on the preparation of the state program on Azerbaijani youth in 2011-2015. The participants raise issues of social protection of youth, youth employment and support to their business activities, patriotic education of youth, and development of scientific and creative potential of young people, participation and governance in civil society.
President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on the preparation of the program on April 6. Upon the decree, the Presidential Administration was instructed to, within 10 days, establish a working group from representatives of relevant government agencies to draft program.
