Baku City Prosecutor's Office has clarified disseminated information on procrastination and unfair conduct of the investigation, which began into a criminal case on the basis of a claim of interference with privacy of an employee of Azerbaijani service of Radio Liberty Khadija Ismayilova.

Recently, an employee of the Azerbaijani service of Radio Liberty Khadija Ismayilova with her representative, lawyer Adil Ismayilov in various media once again tried to create a negative opinion about the investigation into a criminal case by making statements that do not reflect the actual situation in the investigation, that she was not given the opportunity to meet with the investigator, despite the fact that she has filed a request for an inquiry, and that allegedly investigation Department of Baku city prosecutor's Office delays and unfairly conducts the investigation into criminal case on the basis of request of interference with privacy of Ismayilova, Baku City Prosecutor's Office told Trend on Thursday.

Given the above, the Baku City Prosecutor's Office considers it necessary once again to give the public some information to create a real and objective opinion about the investigation into a criminal case.

Thus, at the request of Khadija Ismayilova on March 15, 2012 Prosecutor's Office opened a criminal case under Art. 156.1 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan, and instructed Investigation Department of Baku city prosecutor's office to carry out the investigation.

At the first stage of the investigation, Khadija Ismayilova with the participation of her representative was heard to as a victim and respective rights and obligations were explained to her.

The officers of the Prosecutor's Office have inspected a flat rented by Ismayilova to find trace of crime, material things that can serve as evidence.

Petition of Khadija Ismailova, dated March 28, 2012, on additional questioning of persons as witnesses has been provided and these persons were heard.

A number of people, among whom are relatives and friends of Ismayilova were questioned for full and objective conduct of investigation.

Despite the fact that on April 13 and 17, 2012 Khadija Ismayilova was invited to the investigation in connection with the conduct of investigative measures, Ismayilova did not come, but came and testified on April 26.

In addition to the fact that from the very beginning of the investigation Ismayilova with her personal representative have been invited to attend investigation, on March 17, April 3 and April 14, 2012 they were received by management of the Baku prosecutor's office, their appeals were heard and for a full, objective and overall conduct of the investigation specific instructions were gave.
