The State Border Service (SBS) of Azerbaijan is ready to partner with Turkey in order to create a single border security in case of any future necessity, deputy chief of the State Border Service (SBS), Major General Farhad Taghizadeh told journalists.

"Azerbaijan has rich experience in the creation of a single border security system. The SBS is the only structure that effectively protects borders at sea, on land and at checkpoints. Unlike Azerbaijan, not one, but several structures carry out the protection of Turkish borders. Turkey can create a new structure for the protection of the state borders while taping Azerbaijan's experience," Taghizadeh said.

He also touched on the question of fishing vessels salvation at sea.

Each fishing vessel that goes to sea must have all the necessary equipment for rescue measures, Taghizadeh said.

He noted that every fishing vessel must submit appropriate documents before heading to sea.

"Every vessel must have all the necessary equipment for rescue, before going to sea. If they cannot carry out rescue activities, the State Border Service carries them out," Taghizadeh said.

According to him, permits are issued to fishermen to fish within certain areas.

"There is a responsibility for the violation of other countries' borders by fishing vessels; therefore they are instructed in this regard," Taghizadeh said.
