Fans greatly support gymnasts in the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku, Moldovan gymnast Elizaveta Iampolskaia told Trend April 23.
"I really like the fans’ support,” Iampolskaia, participating in the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation (AGF) Junior Trophy International Tournament, said. "In general, I am pleased with my performances.”
In her turn, Iampolskaia’s coach Ekaterina Kalinina stressed the importance of the current competitions in Baku.
"One gymnast represents Moldova at the current competitions,” Kalinina said. “This is a very important start for us from the point of view of gaining experience, as we will continue to try to advance to the European Championships."
The AGF Junior Trophy International Tournament kicked off at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku April 23.
Individual qualifying competitions are being held today. The winners in team competitions and apparatus finals will be announced today.
Athletes from 18 countries are participating in the tournament.
