The Media achari prize is held annually with the initiative of the Union of Journalists Yeni Nasil, League of Independent Journalists and the Committee for Protection of Journalists Ruh. At the beginning of the event, reports were delivered by the chairman of Press Service Aflatun Amashov, the head of the League of Independent Journalists Yadigar Mammadli and the deputy chief of the social-political department of Executive office of Azerbaijani president.
Then the winners were announced. For the nomination of Karabakh topic, the prize was received by Samaya Muslimgizi for the book They will newer grow. And the second and third places were taken by the employees of the newspaper Gun Sahar and Iki sahil. For the research materials, Nasir Ahmadov was awarded for translating the book Culture of Journalist Speech. For the report nomination, the prize was gained by the employee of Gun Sahar newspaper Asef Guliyev and the second place was taken by the employee of Hesabat magazine Zulfugar Khayirkhabarov and the third by employee of Paritet newspaper Sudaba Eynullayeva.
The general sponsorship for the prize Media Achari was provided by Azercell Company. It awarded several newspapers and three news agencies including Trend for close cooperation.
