Appeal Complaint of Azeri National Army Officer to be Considered till Summer

The appeal complaint on the second court case of the Officer of the Azerbaijan National Army, Ramil Safarov, who has been sentenced to the life-imprisonment by the Hungarian Court, is expected to be considered till the summer holiday of the judges, said the legal representative of Safarov family, Ikram Shirinov. The second case against Safarov, accused of the assassination of the Armenian officer Gurgen Markaryan, is linked with the incident emerged between Safarov and employees of the Hungarian prison during investigation. According to the accusation, on June 19, 2004, the employees of the Hungarian court came to the cell of Safarov and required him to give the telephone card. Safarov refused to fulfill the requirement and resisted to the employees of the prison. As a result, the prison employees applied force against Safarov and he resisted them. Therefore, Pesht Court of Budapest convicted Safarov with the item 229 for a period of 8 months. Accused and accusing sides raised appeal complaints against each others. According to Shirinov, during his visit to Budapest from January 15-19, he was interested in the date of considering the appeal complaint. The advocate said that the sides were not presented with the sentence and therefore, it was impossible to submit relevant documents.
