Azad Rahimov, Azerbaijan Youth and Sport Minister, informed journalists that Azerbaijan is expected to submit documents to the World Olympic Organization on organizing the Olympic Games 2016 in Azerbaijan in June, 2007, Trend reports.
The Minister said that the Azerbaijan party under the assistance of an American consulting company was currently engaged in preparing all required documents.
If Azerbaijan could manage to pass this stage, the second one will be held in 2009. We expect that only 4-5 countries out of the total 16-17 candidates on holding the Olympic Games can succeed to the next stage to be held in 2009, said the Minister.
