Closed Meeting Takes Place at Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry on Mutual Broadcasting of Azerbaijani and Russian TV Channels

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend E.Huseynly / On 29 May discussions took place at the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan regarding mutual broadcasting of Azerbaijani and Russian TV channels. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Foreign Ministry, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, National TV and Radio Council and AzTV. The National TV and Radio Council's representative Gafar Jabiyev said that the meeting focused on the issues that will be discussed at the first meeting of the working group on ensuring mutual broadcasting of Azerbaijani and Russian TV channels.

According to the decision of the National TV and Radio Council of Azerbaijan, the transmission of Russian channels in Azerbaijan will cease. The Russian side protests against the Council's decision. This issue was also discussed during the recent visit of the Foreign Minister of Russia, Sergey Lavrov, to Azerbaijan.
