BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 21. According to the results of 1Q2022, agricultural production in Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan increased by 3.8 percent compared to the same period last year and exceeded 32.8 million manat ($19.2 million), Trend reports citing the report of Nakhchivan’s State Statistical Committee.

Meat production in Nakhchivan in live weight amounted to 6,926 tons, milk – 13,443 tons in reporting period.

Meat production increased year on year by 5.2 percent and milk - by 1.3 percent.

In addition, the number of cattle in Nakhchivan amounted to 127,269, sheep and goats – 801,228 during the reporting period, which is 1.6 and 2.2 percent more than in 1Q2021, respectively.

Economic entities in Nakhchivan engaged in agriculture were issued loans in the amount of 4.4 million manat ($2.6 million) during the reporting period, which is eight percent more than in 1Q2021.

Banks and credit organizations of Nakhchivan issued loans in the amount of 3.7 million manat ($2.1 million) for the construction of infrastructure facilities for livestock and agricultural activities, which is 8.4 percent more than in 1Q2021.
