Shortage of Cash Machines in Lankaran

Azerbaijan, Lankaran / Trend corr. P.Aliyeva / There have been problems in receiving pensions for the last four days in the region of Lankaran in Azerbaijan.

The head of the Lankaran Department of the State Social Protection Fund, Ramiz Azimov, said that about 16,576 pensioners out of 28,930 changedto the plastic card payment system. However, there are only four cash machines in the region.

The pensioners stated that they have to stand in front of cash machines for hours and sometimes for several days.

The head of the Lankaran branch of Capital Bank, Nabiyulla Bakhshiyev, said that they have appealed to the Bank's head on this. The number of cash machines will be increased in the near future.

The Azerbaijani State Fund on Social Protection activated the automisation of the pension payment system in most regions of the country.

The International Bank and Capital Bank are bank-agents of the State Fund.
