U.Ismayilova / The recent increase in price of imported construction materials has lead to the decrease of incomes from construction of new buildings in Azerbaijan. Garakhan Yagub, head of the largest Azerbaijani building company Qaraxan MTK, stated to Trend that there is two times loss in the incomes from each sold square cu meter of real estate.
"Previously, we use to get AZN 30 of benefits from each square meter, but today, the sum makes up only AZN 10 or AZN 15," Yagub said.
The average price for one square meter in the buildings constructed by Qaraxan МТК comprises AZN 800, but two years ago the company use to sell one square meter for AZN 400.
"Reduction of benefits is connected with increase in prices of the construction materials,' Yagubov said.
He stated that the best qualityconstruction armature is produced in Ukraine. Increase in the price of gas has lead to a significant mark up of armature prices.
Cost of 1ton of Ukrainian armature in Azerbaijan comprised AZN 1,250. The price for one sack of concrete in Azerbaijan is AZN 7.9, but the sum was AZN 3.9 two years ago.
