Uzbek President Calls to Mobilize Efforts to Overcome Meet Financial Crisis

Uzbekistan, Tashkent, 6 Dec. /corr. Trend T. Jukov / On 6 Dec. Islam Karimov, President of Uzbekistan, made a speech at the ceremonial meeting dedicated to the 16th anniversary of the adoption of Uzbekistan's constitution, Trend correspondent in Tashkent reports.

"Global financial crisis and its outcomes first have been reflected in development and effectiveness of our economy," the President stated in his report. Due to poor demand in the world market the prices are cut for Uzbekistan's export goods, such as precious and non-ferrous metals, cotton, uranium, mineral oils, chemical fertilizers, etc. This in its turn reduces export profit from economical enterprises and investors, changes income and production profitability and finally, growth rates and our macroeconomic indices".

There are all the necessary conditions to eliminate the world financial crisis and to overcome its outcomes in the country, President of Uzbekistan said. Stable enough economical and financial potential has been formed in the country and reliable mechanisms to manage financial bank infrastructure have been created within the last period.

A decree has been adopted to render additional assistance to banking and financial organizations, to support enterprises and companies' business activity involved in real sector of economy, to increase production profitability and export oppotunity, to allocate for this purpose fringe tax benefits and preferences and to carry out large-scale actions and projects, Islam Karimov said.

"The elimination of outcomes of the world's fast growing financial crisis prompts each of us first to realize difficult problem we face and to ensure maximal mobilization of our efforts and resources."
