Azerbaijan State Caspian Sea Shipping Company (CASPAR) intends to buy ships at a shipbuilding company in Azerbaijan soon. Its construction began recently, CASPAR head Aydin Bashirov said.
He also noted that if it is necessary to purchase specialized ships, such as liquefied gas carriers (if they are not produced in Azerbaijan), orders can be placed outside the country.
"Earlier we planned to buy new ships abroad. But now we think that if Azerbaijan builds a new shipyard soon, the orders will be placed in the republic, and the country will get profit," Bashirov said.
