Azerbaijani State Customs Committee announces volume of trade turnover for January-July

The Azerbaijani State Customs Committee announced the results of foreign trade operations in January-July, which were held with 135 world countries, the Customs Committee said. The total turnover of the country amounted to $15.516 billion. The foreign trade has surplus to the amount of $8.501 billion.

During this period, about 5,604 legal and physical entities were involved in foreign trade operations, including 3,000 - legal entities and 2,604 - physical entities.

Export operations were carried out to the amount of $12.008 billion for the first seven months of 2010. It is 68.04 percent ($4.862 billion) more compared to the same period of 2009.

The share of public sector in export totaled $11.32 billion (94.26 percent), private - $0.636 billion (5.29 percent), physical entities - $53,201 million (0.45 percent).

During January-July, imports amounted to $3.508 billion. It is 6.61 percent ($0,217 million) more over the same period in 2009.

The share of public sector in import operations amounted to $954.332 million (27.21 percent), the private sector - $2.374 billion (67.68 percent), physical entities - $179.43 million (5.11 percent).

During the first half about 1,737 goods were exported from Azerbaijan and 5,385 - imported into the country.
