Inflation hits 0.6% in Kazakhstan

The inflation hits 0.8 percent in Kazakhstan in September, the Kazakh State Statistic Committee said.

Prices for foodstuffs increased by 0.4 percent, non-foodstuffs by 0.5 percent, payment services by 0.8 percent, the Committee said.

Price-increase was observed in the bakery and cereals products by 0.9 percent, bread by 0.2 percent, buckwheat by 8.5 percent, rice by 0.5 percent and flour by 3.6 percent.

Prices for sunflower oil increased by 5.9 percent, dairy products, eggs - by 1.1 percent, meat and poultry - by 0.9 percent, coffee, tea and cocoa - at 0.6 percent, fish and seafood - at 0.4 percent. Decline in prices recorded for potatoes - by 4.4 percent, fruits and fresh vegetables - by 3.6 percent.
Prices for liquefied petroleum gas rose by six percent, tobacco products - by 1.9 percent, solid fuel - by 1.1 percent, newspapers, books and stationery products - by 0.7 percent, clothing and footwear, pharmaceuticals - to 0.4 percent, and detergents and cleaning products - by 0.3 percent.

Prices for the rail passenger transport rose by 1 percent, education by 5.9 percent, health by 0.3 percent and local bus passenger transport by 2.9 percent.

According to the Committee, housing and communal services tariffs for hot water increased by 1 percent, gas transported through the distribution networks - by 0.4, and tariffs for cold water  decreased by 0.6percent and sewerage services by 0.1 percent.
