Iranian customs administration: Iran interested in 'single window' introduced by Azerbaijan

Azerbaijani and Iranian customs services continue close and successful cooperation, Asker Abdullayev, Deputy Chairman of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee, Lieutenant-General of the Customs Service said at a meeting with a delegation headed by Iran's Customs Administration deputy head Mohammad Reza Nasiri in Baku, the committee said.

Azerbaijani and Iranian customs services continue close and successful cooperation, Asker Abdullayev, Deputy Chairman of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee, Lieutenant-General of the Customs Service said at a meeting with a delegation headed by Iran's Customs Administration deputy head Mohammad Reza Nasiri in Baku, the committee said.

"The parties have no serious problems. All issues are solved jointly," Abdullayev said.

He said that Azerbaijan approved the state program to improve the work of customs services for 2007-2011.

Today, one of the goals of Azerbaijani customs service is to establish "e-customs", vice-president said.

"The necessary work is conducted in this direction. The progressive actions are taken to strengthen the legal basis and use information and communication technologies," Abdullayev said.

Mohammad Reza Nasiri also confirmed that there are no obstacles to expand ties between Iranian and Azerbaijani customs authorities.

He said that Iran is interested in Azerbaijan's experience in "single window" introduced in customs.

The participants also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
