Turkmen President Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov "demanded to take all necessary measures to hold cotton harvesting in an organized and timely form, the Turkmen state press service reported.
Berdimuhammed stated about this at the meeting with the leadership of the provincial governments and agribusiness. This year harvesting volume of raw cotton should be more than one million tons from an area of 550,000 hectares.
Berdimuhammedov emphasized the importance of quality of holding agricultural campaigns and demanded the heads of administrations to ensure full implementation of assigned tasks.
"The implementation of state programs in the area of agricultural reforms is an urgent task, to address which should be used all economic levers and the available reserves in the region," he said.
