Trade between CAREC program countries can grow 13 times to 2017 (PHOTO)

In the framework of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation, over 100 infrastructure projects has been approved worth $17 billion today, Asian Development Bank President Haruhiko Kuroda said at the X Ministerial Conference in Baku.

In the framework of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation, over 100 infrastructure projects has been approved worth $17 billion today, Asian Development Bank President Haruhiko Kuroda said at the X Ministerial Conference in Baku.

"Some of these projects have been completed or is implemented now," Kuroda said.

According to Kuroda, about 27 percent of the total funding aims to implement about 27 projects in the energy sector.

"We were able to achieve the trade increase among CAREC member countries," the president said. "It is forecasted that the volume of trade between countries can increase to13 times by 2017, compared to 2001-2008 years."

According to Kuroda, on the background of the global crisis in Europe, the Asian continent demonstrated its viability.
