The producer price index in Azerbaijan in March 2012 has increased by 4.7 percent compared to the previous month and by 18.9 percent compared to the same period of 2011, the State Statistics Committee said today.
Industrial prices in the mining industry in March increased by 5.2 percent compared to the previous month. The prices increased by 5.3 percent in the field of oil and gas production. The prices increased by 0.4 percent in the production of stone, sand, salt, gravel and other products of the extractive industry.
The producer price index in manufacturing industry increased by 2 percent in March compared to February and by 4.6 percent per year. The prices in the chemical industry increased by 2.8 percent compared to February and construction materials by 2.6 percent (4.1 percent).
The prices declined in the production of rubber and plastic products by 6.7 percent (annual growth of 1.5 percent), metallurgical industry - by two percent (an increase of 15.3 percent), production of leather, leather products and footwear - 2.4 percent (an increase of 1.3 percent), printing - 0.4 percent (an increase of 2.1 percent), food products - 1.3 percent (an increase of 3.9 percent), electrical equipment - by 0.2 percent (down by 0.3 percent).
