The first public hearing on the Regional Development Plan of Greater Baku until 2030 will begin in late September, the assistant to the Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture of Azerbaijan Anar Bayramov told reporters on Monday.
The plan covers 11 districts of Baku, as well as Sumgait and Absheron region, including Khirdalan - a total area of 280,000 hectares.
"The development of these areas, issues related to facilities to be built, and other issues will be discussed during the hearing," the committee said earlier.
The main objective of the project is the creation of an effective management system in urban development of Greater Baku, and on its basis - of all other cities and towns of Azerbaijan.
Bayramov said that currently plan concept is being finalized.
On October 28, the World Bank representatives will visit Baku to consider the results of the primary assessment of the situation.
