Turkmen Dovlet Khabarlary stressed that the weather conditions are favorable for the Turkmen farmers to achieve high results.
Cotton harvesting campaign started late in August. Some 1.109 million tons of raw product are planned to be collected from 500,000 hectares in 2012.
Around 1.1million tons of cotton were collected last year. The country traditionally exports raw materials to China, Russia, Great Britain, South Korea, Turkey, Iran, Indonesia, Singapore, Ukraine and the Baltics.
Cotton production (cotton, lint and uluk) is sold through the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of the country.
