Iranian Northern Mazandaran governor-general Seyed Ali Akbar Tahaei, in a meeting with Uzbekistan Ambassador to Tehran Ilham Akramov called for enhancement of bilateral trade transactions, IRNA reported.

'I recommend the Uzbek businessmen and traders to take the opportunity of sanctions the Islamic Republic for their presence in Iranian market,' he said.

The Mazandaran governor-general said that Uzbekistan can be connected to Iran's Northern provinces, especially Mazandaran province through Caspian Sea and air and land routes.

Tahaei noted that the value of Mazandaran province's annual production in agricultural, industrial, service and tourism sectors amounts to 170 trillion rials.

He said that the total value of Mazandaran's trade transactions with Uzbekistan in the first eight months of the current Iranian year was 1.16 million rials.

The Uzbek envoy, for his part, said that his country is ready to enhance trade relations with Mazandaran province.
