Iran exported 15,000 tons of eggs to Iraq, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Georgia, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates in the first two months of the current Iranian calendar year, which began on March 21, ISNA quoted HedayatAsghari, the head of Iran's Egg Producers' Union as saying.
"Iran is also planning to export eggs to Russia," he added.
The country will produce 950,000 tons of eggs in the current year and plans to export 150,000 tons of the product, he noted.
Iran produced around 930,000 tons of eggs in the previous year which is five percent more than its preceding year.
According to Asghari, Iran earns 1.3 dollar through exporting one kilogram of eggs.
