Iran's imports faced 26 percent decrease in the first three months of the current calendar year (which started March 21), Deputy Director of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran, Kioumars Fathollah Kermanshahi said on Monday.

"The central bank has not allocated enough money to the imports," the Fars News Agency quoted Kermanshahi as saying.

"Iran's foreign trade was $19.2 billion in the first quarter, which has decreased by $4.3 billion compared to previous year," he said. "Iran's non-oil exports accounted for 9.8 billion dollars of the mentioned amount."

"Iran's non-oil exports are currently higher than the country's imports. Although we always wanted this to happen, but unfortunately the country's total foreign trade has dropped sharply," he added.

According to Kermanshahi, Iran's non-oil exports (including gas condensates) faced 1.7 percent increase in the mentioned period.
