The Scientific Innovation Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan will get the status of the business incubator in the field of high technology, SIC CEO Azer Namazov told Trend Oct.31.
He said that it will happen within the framework of cooperation of SIC with the Ministry of Communications and High Technology and the Ministry of Economy and Industry.
"The Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, as well as other organizations in the country, is empowered to enjoy the benefits of the High Technology Park created by the order of the Head of State," he said. "We are working closely with industry ministry and see great prospects for enhancing cooperation in the future."
Namazov said that cooperation with High Technology Park, besides the ICT sector, will cover such areas as biotechnology and nanotechnology, petrochemical and geology. The matter rests in the development of innovative projects and the practical application of high technologies.
"Special attention will be given to the creation and export of intellectual products of Azerbaijani scientists to the consumer market, their use in all spheres of the economy of Azerbaijan," Namazov said. "In addition, the matter also rests in the development of human resources, training of highly skilled personnel, development of their skills in the world's leading research centers."
All the necessary measures for cooperation in scientific and technological area are stipulated in the memorandum of understanding, which is planned to be signed in a trilateral order until the end of the year between the ANAS, Ministry of Communications and High Technology and the Ministry of Economy and Industry. Currently the document is under consideration of these agencies.
