The People's Bank of Kazakhstan (Halyk Bank) is considering opening a subsidiary bank in Uzbekistan, Reuters reported.
The bank, whose assets amount to $ 26 billion, can establish a "daughter" in Tashkent in a year and a half , Chairman of the Board of the Bank Umut Shayakhmetova said.
The bank already has divisions in Russia, Georgia and Kyrgyzstan
"We are at the stage of studying the market, communicating with the regulator and understanding what they want to do," she said.
