Exact date of first Azerbaijani-Arab investment forum disclosed

The first Azerbaijani-Arab Investment Forum will be held in Baku in early May, Elshan Rahimov, chairman of the Public Association for Cooperation of Azerbaijan and Arab Countries, told Trend.

"The first investment forum will be held in Baku on May 1-3,” he said. “About 300 businessmen and investors from Arab countries are expected to arrive in Baku. The biggest investors of the Arab world will attend the event. Moreover, Deputy Director General of the Islamic Corporation for the Development of Private Sector (ICD) Adeeb Ahmad is also expected to attend the event."

Rahimov added that the investment forum between Azerbaijan and the Arab countries is aimed not only at attracting additional investments to the country, but it also will help to establish healthy relations between Azerbaijani and Arab businessmen.

Earlier, the forum was planned to be held in March 2018.

Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Arab countries amounted to $324.53 million in 2017, of which $259.72 million accounted for the export of Azerbaijani goods, according to the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.
