In March 2018, the number of vessels arriving in Turkey's ports amounted to 17,408 units, the Turkish Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communication told Trend on April 18.
During the reported period, the number of ships that arrived in Turkish ports, flying the flag of Turkey, was 8,911, while the number of vessels flying flags of other countries - 8,497.
The gross registered tonnage of all vessels during the reported period was 199.3 million tons.
"The gross registered tonnage of vessels arriving in Turkish ports and flying the Turkish flag amounted to 36.9 million tons, and vessels flying the flags of other countries - 162.3 million tons," the ministry said.
