Kazakh companies increase output of goods and services

Kazakhstan’s large enterprises produced a record volume of products worth 7 trillion tenge in the first quarter of 2018, Kazakh media outlets reported.

Kazakh companies increased output of products and services by 24.3 percent in the mentioned period. In the first quarter of 2017 large enterprises of Kazakhstan produced goods and services totaling 5.6 trillion tenge.

The biggest volume of production accounted for the mining industry and the development of quarries - 2.2 trillion tenge (share from all industries - 31.7 percent), manufacturing industry - 1.3 trillion tenge (share from all industries - 19.3 percent), transport and logistics sector - 977.4 billion tenge (the share from all industries is 14 percent).

The total volume of goods and services produced by the three key industries amounted to 4.5 trillion tenge, or 65.1 percent from the total output.

Along with the growth in the volume of products and services, the cost of production grew by 15.4 percent, or by 781.4 billion tenge, year over year.

The highest cost of goods sold and services provided was recorded in the wholesale and retail trade, repair of cars and motorcycles - 1.4 trillion tenge (an increase of 20 percent year over year). The second most resource-intensive production sector in Kazakhstan is manufacturing - 1.2 trillion tenge (an increase of 20.1 percent year over year).
