Azerbaijan’s Aran remains leader in terms of lending among districts

In May 2018, 2.11 billion manats accounted for the lending to the Azerbaijani districts, which is 6.6 percent more than in May 2017, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) said in a message.

The share of districts in the total loan portfolio of banks for the same period increased from 16.9 to 17.7 percent.

According to the CBA, loans worth 9.83 billion manats were issued in Baku at the end of May 2018, which is 4.7 times more than in the districts. Almost 5.58 billion manats accounted for the loans in the national currency in Baku (56.8 percent of the total lending volume in Baku) and in the districts - 1.75 billion manats (82.9 percent of the total lending volume in the districts).

The average annual interest rate on loans in the country was 12 percent, in Baku - 10.4 percent in May 2018.
