Bulgaria intends to further expand co-op with Baku Port

Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company (BPI Co.) intends to further expand the cooperation between the country’s Burgas and Varna ports and Baku International Sea Trade Port, Trend learned from BPI Co.

“As we expected our cooperation in 2018 was very active. We had the pleasure to be in contact with our distinguished colleagues from Azerbaijan and to meet Taleh Ziyadov, Director General of the Port of Baku in Bulgaria. Ziyadov visited Port of Varna and Port of Burgas,” said the company.

Anguel Zabourtov, Director General of Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Co. is also planning to visit Port of Baku by the end of the year, according to BPI Co.

“For us the key for a fruitful cooperation is a process of sharing of technical information and exchanging of good practices.”

“The Memorandum of understanding between Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company and the Baku International Sea Trade Port CJSC gives the opportunities for encouraging greater collaboration between respective national ports management authorities. So our future plans are for further expansion of cooperation and exchange of experience between the Baku International Sea Trade Port and Bulgarian ports of Varna and Burgas within our areas of competence and in such activities.”

Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company (BPI Co.) manages the port infrastructure of the public transport ports of national importance and provides traffic management and shipping information services.

BPI Co. has four territorial and three specialized divisions in Burgas, Varna, Lom and Ruse.
