Tashkent, Moscow to sign agreements and contracts for $20B

Tashkent and Moscow plan to sign agreements and contracts worth $ 20billion following the visit of Vladimir Putin to Uzbekistan, Podrobno.uz reported citing a source familiar with the situation.

Vladimir Putin will visit Uzbekistan on October 18-19. The construction of the first nuclear power plant in Central Asia will be launched during the visit. It will be located near Tudakul Lake on the border of Navoi and Bukhara regions.

Uzbekistan ranks fourth among the CIS countries by the volume of trade turnover with Russia. At the end of 2017, this figure amounted to $3.6 billion and increased by 33.9 percent.

At the end of the first half of the current year, 16 percent of the foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan has fallen to the share of Russia.

The trade turnover between the two countries during this period amounted to $2.5 billion (exports - $811 million, imports - $1.7 billion). At the same time, the total volume of investments from Russia to Uzbekistan has exceeded $ 8.5 billion.

About 1,200 enterprises with the participation of Russian capital operate in Uzbekistan.
