Annual overhaul has been completed at Iran’s South Pars Gas Field platforms to increase reliance on gas production in the winter, said Hadi Fakhrzadeh, director of the Offshore Maintenance Head Department at Iran’s Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC), SHANA reported.

He said that the overhaul of the platforms was carried out for six months in 70,000 man-hours without any incidents.

He added that last Iranian year (started March 21, 2017) six platforms were added to production platforms. He noted that while 17 platforms were added to 23 platforms during annual maintenance, this year the overhaul lasted for 173 days compared to 179 days in the same period last year.

“The overhaul included checking of storage facilities and eliminating the flaws, maintenance and calibration of wellhead safety cranes, updating platform control systems, calibration of large-sized valves, security systems, as well as repair of parts of the pipes,” he said.
