Esfahan’s Mobarakeh Steel Company of Iran manufactures half of country's steel with 10 million tons of steel a year, and is considered to be the largest industrial facility in Iran, Executive Director of Esfahan's Mobarakeh Steel Company Hamidreza Azimian said.

He made the remarks at the National Quality Day event held at the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Fars News Agency reported.

Azimian said that 1 percent of the country's total GDP, and 3 percent of the GDP in the industrial sector accounts for Esfahan’s Mobarakeh Steel Company.

Last Iranian year (March 21, 2017-March 21, 2018), the company's revenues amounted to 60 trillion rials (roughly $1.429 billion), Azimian said, adding that the company pays taxes in the amount of ten trillion rials (roughly $239 million).

Esfahan’s Mobarakeh Steel Company was awarded with ISO10002 and ISO10004 quality standards for customer satisfaction, Azimian said.

"The company produced about 2.4 million tons of steel in 1991 and used 16.4 cubic meters of water, but presently, it uses 2.7 cubic meters of water for 7.6 million tons of steel. That is, the water consumption has dropped seven times, while the production has grown three times," the director added.
