Iran announces volume of goods exported from Sistan and Baluchestan province

The export of goods from Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan province has exceeded $489 million during eight months of this Iranian year (started on March 21, 2018), Nader Mirshekar, chairman of the Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Sistan and Baluchestan province, said.

This shows 94 percent increase in terms of value in the same period of last Iranian year, Trend reports referring to Shata news agency.

He said that the obstacles faced by exporters should be eliminated.

Mirjave and Milek border markets have the potential for export of goods, Mirshekar said.

During eight months, 1,23,285 tons of goods worth $489,473,722 were exported through the customs and border markets of the province, he added.

The products worth $137,922,710 were exported through the customs of the province and the products worth $351,501.12 million – through the border markets, Mirshekar said.

The share of customs in export reached 28 percent, while the share of border markets – 72 percent, he said.

According to the foreign trade program, $664 million accounted for the value of non-oil export of the province this Iranian year, Mirshekar said.

Taking into account the value of export during eight months, approximately 74 percent of the program has been implemented, he added.

During the reporting period, the foreign trade balance of the province reached $370,84,884, Mirshekar said.

During eight months of this Iranian year, building materials (cement), dates, fruits, tomatoes, peas, melons and gourds were mainly exported from Sistan and Baluchestan province to Afghanistan, Pakistan, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and other countries.

The products worth more than $316 million were exported to Pakistan during eight months. This is a 133 percent increase in terms of value compared to the same period of last Iranian year.

During eight months of this Iranian year, the goods worth $162 million were exported to Afghanistan, he said.
