Austria’s Esarom to help Uzbekistan develop food industry

Ambassador of Uzbekistan in Austria Sherzod Asadov met with Ernst Kunze, the president of Esarom GmbH, a supplier of taste giving ingredients, as well as the company CEO Michael Kornberger, financial director Stephan Mölls and director for CIS Alla Brodyanski, Trend reports citing Podrobno.uz.

Expansion of cooperation, including production of ingredients in Uzbekistan, as well as engaging the company experience for promoting the products of the Uzbek confectionery and overall food industries in international and regional markets was discussed in detail during the meeting, said the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.

The Austrian side pointed out that the Uzbek confectionery industry has all the potential for expansion of its presence not just in the markets of CIS, but in the EU as well.

The company managers stressed that the plans of the Uzbek Government for active development of the food industry, primarily the confectionery, meat, dairy and alcohol production give confidence on necessity of developing the strategies for Esarom’s long-term presence in Uzbekistan.

They expressed readiness to conduct a detailed analysis of the Central and East Asian markets together with their Uzbek partners and to jointly develop a series of recipes meeting the international organic, halal and kosher standards in order to start their production and subsequent export.

The company managers expressed readiness to provide full assistance in carrying out all the necessary laboratory tests in their head office in Austria and in preparation of all the necessary documents for certification, including in the European Union.

In addition, an agreement was reached to organize regular courses in Tashkent and Vienna for improving the qualification of Uzbekistan’s food industry specialists.
