The Azerbaijani Ministry of Labour and Social Protection held a meeting with a group of women who successfully built their business as part of a self-employment program, Trend reports referring to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population.
Azerbaijani Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population Sahil Babayev stressed that an important part of the participants of the self-employment program, being implemented upon Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s order, accounts for women.
He stressed that 1,309 out of 7,267 people participating in the program accounted for women in 2018.
"This year this figure will increase," Babayev added.
The establishment of individual households by low-income families within the program has created an opportunity to eliminate their dependence on state aid, increase family income through the labour and obtain the opportunity to launch business.
During the event, the production sites owned by women were inspected.
