In the last Iranian year (March 21, 2018-March 20, 2019), production in Iran's textile industry increased by 7 percent, the head of the Textile and Clothing Industries Office of Iran's Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade Afsana Mehrabi said, Trend reports via Young Journalists Club.

Exports of Iran's textile industry, last year, increased by 26 percent in terms of value, and 30 percent in terms of weight.

Mehrabi noted that in the last Iranian year, due to problems related to foreign currency reserves, Iran's economy faced a number of difficulties.

"Textile industry was not an exception in this case and many were expecting the industry to face difficulties and decrease," she said. "However, it did not happen, instead, we even exported our goods."

Mehrabi added that production in Iran's textile industry is planned to be increased with the cooperation and investments of the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade and the country's private sector.
