Common indusrtial zone to be set up in Bilasuvar district

The Head of Iran-Azerbaijan Joint Chamber of Commerce Hossein Pirmoazen explained details of the agreements concluded during his visit to Baku along with a delegation headed by Iran's Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade.

“During the trip, a number of important meetings were held. The Iranian Minister of Industry met with the Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Mr. Shahin Mustafayev to follow up the approvals of the Economic Commission between the two countries,” Hossein Pirmoazen told Trend.

In his words, Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran are determined to expand relations, and the bilateral relationship is improving. Speaking about the positive results of the visit, the Head of Iran-Azerbaijan Joint Chamber of Commerce reported that a joint bus factory was put into operations with the participation of Azermash Company of Azerbaijan and the private company "Oghab" of Iran in the south of Baku. “Six million euros will initially be invested in the project,” he said

“Construction of the joint pharmacy is also in progress,” he added. “Launching ceremonies for three new projects including the construction of the bus factory, a car parts factory and car puller factory were held in the presence of the Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan and the Iran’s Minister and Deputy Minister of Industry,’ he added.

“I proposed to establish a common industrial zone, and the initial MoU was agreed upon. For this purpose, it is planned to set up a task force,” said Pirmoazen. In his words, the Bilasuvar district of Azerbaijan is considered as the area of ​​the common industrial zone between the two countries.

Referring to opening of the Iranian business centre in Baku, he said that it would be responsible for the arbitration between exporters of both countries and will also serve as a focal point to follow up on the work and establishment of Iranian companies in Azerbaijan and Azerbaijani companies in Iran. “A technical committee appointed by the Azerbaijani and Iranian sides is scheduled to meet next week,” Hossein Pirmoazen added.

Referring to the trade turnover between Iran and Azerbaijan, Pirmoazen says that it has increased by 70 percent over the past six months and reached equivalent of $200 million. “Given the current status, we are determined to increase this number,” he added.
