Japan rendering technical assistance to Turkmenistan in agribusiness dev't

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) contributes to the development of agribusiness in Turkmenistan on the basis of innovative technologies and enhances the export potential of local producers, Trend reports referring to the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan on June 7.

In particular, the management of the Ezber dayhan local private enterprise, specializing in seed production and production of greenhouse vegetables, took part in the recent training seminar held in Hokkaido (Japan).

The participants learnt about the best practices in the field of agricultural production, farm management and the implementation of international standards during the seminar, organized by JICA.

Director General of the JICA Central Asia and the Caucasus Department Koji Fujiya visited Ashgabat in 2018.

The importance of training programs in JICA’s activity and the effectiveness of their training for specialists in various sectors of the economy were stressed during the working meetings.

JICA has expressed interest in cooperation with Turkmenistan and in the social projects. From this point of view, the Turkmen side put forward a proposal to consider the possibility of participating in the project to modernize the Turkmen railways.

The Turkmen government and JICA have been working together for a long time in the field of seismology.
