President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov pointed to the slow pace of work being done for creating an electronic industry in the country during a government meeting, Trend reports referring to the Turkmen Dovlet Habarlary state agency.

In this regard, Deputy Prime Minister Mammethan Chakyyev was tasked to prepare and submit for approval an inter-sectoral strategy for its development by the end of 2019.

It is necessary to develop a set of measures to ensure conditions for the development of design centers for microelectronics, as well as priority areas of cooperation with foreign producers, the words of the head of state are cited in the information.

The Ministry of Industry of Turkmenistan is developing the electronics industry as part of a state program. In particular, the "Senagat tehnologiyalary" enterprise created as part of public-private partnership has already developed and produced prototypes of electronic information kiosks. The “Elektron ylhamy” enterprise has launched the production of electricity distribution devices.

Another promising direction is setting up the production of lighting products in the country, including LED lamps, which the “Aydyn Gijeler” company is engaged in. Furthermore, the Ministry of Industry and the Turkey’s "Gap Inshaat" company jointly carry out commissioning work on installation of the equipment for the production of electronic electricity meters.

An important direction of the state program is the creation of small enterprises for the production of electronic and electrical appliances for people in all regions of the country. In the future, on the basis of many years of research and development projects conducted in the country, it is planned to create domestic production of elements that convert solar energy into electricity from local raw materials.
