Turkey supplies Ejder Yalchin 4x4 armored vehicles to Uzbekistan

Armed Forces of Uzbekistan received a batch of 24 Turkish Ejder Yalchin 4x4 armored vehicles, Trend reports referring to Center for Analysis of World Arms Trade.

In 2017, the Turkish private defense company Nurol Makina signed a memorandum of understanding with Uzbek UzAuto company on co-production of 1,000 Ejder Yalchin armored vehicles at an enterprise in Uzbekistan, read the message.

“The memorandum provided for the supply of the first 24 cars to Uzbekistan from Turkey, with their further production at an Uzbek enterprise and permission to sell to third countries”, the message said.

The armored vehicle "Ejder Yalchin" has a body with a V-shaped bottom and armor, providing high protection against small arms fire and mines. The installation of additional mounted armor and anti-cumulative screens is envisaged. It has a Cummins engine with a maximum power of 300 hp. at 2100 rpm The engine is connected to a fully automatic transmission with a hydrodynamic transformer.

The machine has a three-speed gearbox and power steering. It is also equipped with an auxiliary pump for the emergency steering system, which is designed to operate in the event of an engine failure.

It has a top speed of 110 km/h and has a range of 600 km. It accelerates from 0 to 40 km / h in six seconds. For all wheels, the suspension is independent with double wishbones. The machine is equipped with transverse and longitudinal differential locks, as well as wide wheels of large diameter. A centralized tire inflation system adjusts tire pressure according to road conditions.

The machine has a wheelbase of 3100 mm and ground clearance of 400 mm. It can overcome obstacles 0.5 meters high, ditches 1.1 meters wide, and fords 0.7 meters deep. In addition, it can overcome slopes of 70 percent and lateral slopes of 30 percent. The turning radius of the new Ejder Yalçin is 7.5 meters.

The maximum combat weight of the machine, depending on the configuration, is from 12 to 14 tons, the payload is 4 tons. The length of the vehicle is 5.42 m long, 2.48 m wide, 2.3 m high, and 400 mm ground clearance. Engine power is 300 hp, highway speed is 110 km/h and cruising range is 600 km.

It is possible to install various combat modules depending on the task to be performed on the armored car, but in the configuration for the Uzbek Armed Forces, the option with an open turret armed with a 7.62 mm machine gun was chosen. Armored vehicles will be used to patrol the border with Afghanistan.

Earlier Turkey supplied Ejder Yalchin 4x4 armored vehicles to Qatar and Georgia.
