Siraf Refining project in Iran’s Bushehr province needs investments worth 220 trillion rials (about $5.23 billion), Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zangeneh said.
He was speaking at a meeting with Director General of the Central Bank of Iran Naser Hakimi, Head of the Securities and Exchange Organization Shapour Mohammadi, representatives of the National Reserve Fund and other relevant officials to investigate the financial provision of the refinery project, Trend reports referring to the Young Journalists Club (YJC).
Zangeneh noted that 65 percent of the project’s investments will be provided in foreign currency.
He added that the project will be completed within three years. “If there is timely financing, this project will be commissioned by the end of 2022,” he said.
He noted that 360,000 barrels of oil will be processed at the refinery daily, according to the project.
