Until 2025, Uzbekistan's Tashkent Passenger Car Repair and Maintenance Plant plans to commission 300 new railcars, thereby renewing 70-80 percent of the country's total passenger railcars, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.

In accordance with the developed concept for updating the registered fleet of passenger cars “Uzrailpass”, it is planned to annually purchase new passenger cars in an amount of at least 50 units of different types.

According to experts, from 2009 to 2018, the average number of purchased railcars did not exceed 18 units per year.
