Building materials output up in Azerbaijan in 10 months

From January through October 2019, construction materials worth 648.7 million manat ($382.3 million) were produced in Azerbaijan, which is 3.8 percent more compared to the same period of 2018, Trend reports referring to Azerbaijan’s State Statistical Committee.

The volume of cement production in the reported ten-month period amounted to over 2.8 million tons (a decline of 2 percent compared to the same period 2018), construction lime - 37,100 tons (an increase of 51.1 percent), building blocks and bricks made of cement, artificial stone or concrete - 76,100 tons (an increase of 24.2 percent), asphalt - 333,100 tons (an increase of 36 percent), building bricks - 353,300 cubic meters (an increase of 41.4 percent ), ready-mixed concrete – 1,520 tons (an increase of 27.8 percent), processed marble, travertine, alabaster and articles made of them – 30,900 tons (an increase of 17.2 percent).

In the reported period, the production of building gypsum declined by 71.7 percent to 11,900 tons, while the output of prefabricated concrete structures decreased by 55.4 percent to 35,700 cubic meters.
