Kazakhstan's backbone ventures may receive state support

Kazakhstan's backbone ventures may receive support from the government in the case that they meet a number of conditions, Trend reports with reference to the press office of Kazakhstan’s prime minister.

The measures of state support for backbone ventures were discussed during a meeting of the State Commission for Economy Modernization, chaired by Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Askar Mamin.

The draft of the corresponding register of backbone ventures was presented by Kazakhstan’s Minister of National Economy Ruslan Dalenov.

The register includes 361 ventures operating in fields of construction, transport, energy, trade, real estate renting, mining and processing.

The proposed measures of state support include provision of state guarantees for loans, access to preferential liquidity, tax deferrals, simplification and acceleration of the VAT refund process, acceleration of permits and government services provision.

In turn, the reciprocal obligations of the backbone ventures may be the preservation of jobs, procurement of goods and services from local manufacturers (if available), information disclosure, ensuring of timely payments under existing agreements, cancellation of dividend payments and bonuses to top management for 2019-2020 .

The meeting participants also discussed possible tax incentives, preferences and other measures of state support for civil aviation ventures, current issues of large ventures operational activities in agriculture and engineering, and others.
