CEO of Khuzestan Aquatic Consortium announced that Russia, Belarus, Egypt, Qatar, Oman and Iraq as the destination countries for consortium's exported products.

"One of the important criteria in selecting these seven countries for trade operations was the lack of difficulty in transferring money and good political relations between Iran and these states,” Hassan Gharibzadeh said, Trend reports citing IRNA.

"These countries can be very good gateways for the import of aquatic products of Khuzestan province and their further supply to other countries around the world,” he added.

Emphasizing the need for international marketing for exporting products, Gharibzadeh said that the Aquatic export consortium was established in the province exactly for this purpose.

"Furthermore, specialized department of marketing, law, manufacturing, R&D, education and finance was formed to ensure success of the consortium activities," he said.

Gharibzadeh touched upon work of the consortium activities in Oman and talked about preparations for opening a commercial office in Russia.

"We also have good knowledge of the Iraqi market,” he said adding that in coordination with economics consultants of Iranian embassies in Egypt and Qatar, strategy is being developed to enter the markets of these countries.

The consortium plans to sell its share stocks via the stock market during next year, Gharibzadeh noted.

Out of a total of 1.3 million tons of aquatic products in the country, Khuzestan province's production amounts to 130,000 tons, said the report.
